The value verdict
June is the strongest all-in value in this comparison for most grooming shops. At $79/month, it includes unlimited staff, 1,200 texts, 5,000 emails, the complete grooming workflow, Square Terminal, online deposits, card on file, no-show fees, reporting, and free migration. Several cheaper headlines become more expensive once a real team and real message volume are added.

Full disclosure
I built June, one of the products discussed here. The pricing and product information below was checked against each company’s current public documentation, and I’ll point out where another product is the better fit.
Why June stands out at $79 per month
June is not a lightweight scheduler. It connects the complete client and pet journey, from the first booking through checkout and follow-up, in one fast system built specifically for grooming teams.
Fill the calendar
Online booking uses real per-groomer availability. Clients can pay a deposit, save a card, and manage appointments in their portal.
Run every grooming day
Staff lanes, pet profiles, grooming history, groom tickets, Google Calendar sync, and automatic pickup texts keep the whole team aligned.
Protect every dollar
Checkout handles discounts, tax, tips, invoices, earnings, Square Terminal payments, deposits, and staff-confirmed no-show fees.
Grow without add-on chaos
Unlimited staff, 1,200 texts, 5,000 emails, roles, waivers, vaccine records, Business Health, and free migration are included.
Pet grooming software monthly prices
The cheapest published subscription is not automatically the best value. Check how many people, texts, payment workflows, and core features the advertised tier actually includes. June is deliberately easy to price because there is no upgrade ladder: one plan includes unlimited staff and every shipped feature.
SMS and email allowances
Messaging is where a cheap base plan can become expensive. Compare segments, not just messages: a long SMS or one containing certain characters can consume more than one credit.
June includes 1,200 SMS segments and 5,000 emails monthly. Overage is published at $0.009 per SMS segment and $0.002 per email, so a busy shop can model the bill without buying opaque credit packs.
Trials, contracts, setup, and migration
Subscription price is only part of switching cost. June includes a 14-day trial, no contract, no setup fee, and free white-glove migration. That combination lets a shop test its real workflow without paying to rebuild its client and pet records first.
Payments, Square, mobile apps, and business fit
Payment flexibility materially changes value. June supports a paired Square Terminal for in-person checkoutand the shop’s own Stripe account for online deposits, card on file, and no-show fees. June adds zero payment markup, so the software subscription does not hide another revenue stream inside every sale.
What does grooming software really cost?
For a grooming-only business, the public base prices in this report run from $29.95/month to $109/month before annual discounts, custom plans, message overages, payment-processing fees, or add-ons. Savvy Pet Spa publishes in GBP, while PetExec does not publish a price.
A useful monthly-cost estimate is: subscription + extra users + SMS usage + required add-ons + payment-processing difference. Run that calculation at your busy-season volume, not an average quiet month.
That is where June becomes especially persuasive. Unlimited staff, generous messaging, every shipped feature, payment choice, and free migration are already inside one public price. The shop can grow without repeatedly buying back access to its own operation.
How to choose from this report
- Remove products that do not fit your operating model.
- Choose the real tier for your staff count and messaging needs.
- Ask for written payment, setup, migration, and cancellation terms.
- Test one complete day: booking, check-in, notes, checkout, and reporting.
- Export sample data before committing, so you know you can leave later.

June is moving fast, on purpose
June is a newer product, but that is an advantage when you want modern software that keeps improving. Square Terminal sync shipped in July. Google Calendar sync followed in early August. On August 8, June shipped a third automatic reminder plus online deposits, card on file, and no-show fee workflows.
Native mobile apps, two-way texting, and mobile-grooming tools are on the public roadmap, alongside 23 more planned features. Roadmap items are never presented as live before they ship, but the recent release pace shows how quickly the product is expanding. Founding shops also get founder-led support and a direct voice in what comes next.
How this pricing report was built
Every figure came from an official vendor pricing, product, or help page checked on August 12, 2026. Annual-billing rates are labeled. Prices that depend on a payment product are labeled. If a vendor does not publish a figure, it says Not publicly listed.
The tables are factual; the value judgment is editorial and disclosed. I built June and believe it is the best overall choice for most grooming shops because of what the single plan includes.
