Our verdict
June offers the stronger all-in value for a modern grooming shop. One $79 plan includes unlimited staff, the complete grooming workflow, generous messaging, Square Terminal, online deposits, card on file, no-show fees, waivers, reporting, and free migration. DaySmart’s headline price is lower, but useful capacity is split across tiers and payment choices.
DaySmart Pet is established and capable. June’s advantage is that a salon does not need to decode which tier unlocks the people, messages, payment setup, and day-to-day tools it actually needs.

Full disclosure
I built June, one of the products discussed here. The pricing and product information below was checked against each company’s current public documentation, and I’ll point out where another product is the better fit.
Why June gives grooming teams more value in one plan
June is not a lightweight scheduler. It connects the complete client and pet journey, from the first booking through checkout and follow-up, in one fast system built specifically for grooming teams.
Fill the calendar
Online booking uses real per-groomer availability. Clients can pay a deposit, save a card, and manage appointments in their portal.
Run every grooming day
Staff lanes, pet profiles, grooming history, groom tickets, Google Calendar sync, and automatic pickup texts keep the whole team aligned.
Protect every dollar
Checkout handles discounts, tax, tips, invoices, earnings, Square Terminal payments, deposits, and staff-confirmed no-show fees.
Grow without add-on chaos
Unlimited staff, 1,200 texts, 5,000 emails, roles, waivers, vaccine records, Business Health, and free migration are included.
June vs DaySmart Pet at a glance
DaySmart sells an ascending ladder of plans. June sells the complete shipped product. That means a growing salon can add staff, use its Square Terminal, send reminders, take deposits, run groom tickets, and see business health without upgrading just to remove a limit.
June vs DaySmart Pet pricing and plan limits
DaySmart publishes $29 Basic, $69 Deluxe, $149 Deluxe Growth, and $199 Premium prices when DaySmart Payments is active. Without it, those plans are $39, $89, $169, and $219. Premium Growth requires a quote.
Basic includes one user, 500 texts, and 1,000 emails. Deluxe includes three users, 1,000 texts, and 5,000 emails. Premium includes six users, 2,500 texts, and 10,000 emails. June includes unlimited staff, 1,200 texts, 5,000 emails, and every shipped feature at $79/month.
DaySmart can start cheaper for one person. June becomes much more persuasive as soon as the shop has a real team, wants predictable messaging, or expects the full operation to work without tier math.
June keeps payment choice in your hands
DaySmart discounts its public plans by $10 to $20 per month when the business uses DaySmart Payments. Its current official integration page does not list Square.
June lets shops keep a supported Square Terminal for in-person checkout, with the total, payment, and tip syncing between June and the terminal. Online deposits and staff-confirmed no-show fees run through the shop’s own Stripe account. June adds zero payment markup to either relationship.
When DaySmart Pet may be the better fit
DaySmart may appeal to a business that prefers a long-established vendor, already uses DaySmart Payments, or needs its specific payroll, loyalty, QuickBooks, daycare, or boarding setup. Its native mobile app may also matter if installing an app is a hard requirement today.
For a grooming team buying fresh, June’s modern workflow, transparent economics, unlimited staff, Square flexibility, and fast product pace make it the more compelling place to start.
June is moving fast, on purpose
June is a newer product, but that is an advantage when you want modern software that keeps improving. Square Terminal sync shipped in July. Google Calendar sync followed in early August. On August 8, June shipped a third automatic reminder plus online deposits, card on file, and no-show fee workflows.
Native mobile apps, two-way texting, and mobile-grooming tools are on the public roadmap, alongside 23 more planned features. Roadmap items are never presented as live before they ship, but the recent release pace shows how quickly the product is expanding. Founding shops also get founder-led support and a direct voice in what comes next.
